May 17, 2016

As we close in on the end of school we are continuing to work our hardest practicing skills.

In Language Arts we have been working on character's point of view and author's point of view. We had many opportunities to practice determining the character's point of view and the author's point of view. We wrapped that up with the book "The Day the Crayons Quit," and we wrote about the point of view of each crayon in the book. This week we will be reviewing skills we have been practicing over the last month and having a final test on these skills through the week next week.

In Math we have moved on from Geometry and everyone did a fabulous job on the chapter test in Geometry. We are now working on Representing and Interpreting Data. We have used Tally Charts, Frequency Charts, Bar Graphs and Pictographs. We are going to do some activities in the room in which we collect data and represent that data in a variety of different methods.

In Science we are wrapping up our Minerals and Rocks unit. We are having a vocabulary test on Wednesday. We will be reviewing all information on Thursday and the students are going to have an open book test on Friday over all of the information.

Upcoming dates:

  • May 24-Downtown Cleveland Field Trip. Please don't forget to pack a brown bag lunch with all disposable items.
  • May 26-Field trip to Central School in the a.m.
  • June 1-Third Grade Recognition assembly 1:45
  • June 2-Field Day and End of the Year Party-1:40 dismissal.
